Regulatory Compliance: This agreement is governed by the Consumer Protection Act, 2008 (Act No. 68 of 2008) and other relevant South African laws.
2. Definitions
"Real Life Style" – The rental service provider.
"You" or the "Customer" – The individual renting garments from Real Life Style.
"Garment(s)" – Clothing and accessories available for hire.
"Rental Period" – The agreed duration of the rental.
"Rental Fee" – The hire fee for the garment(s).
"Late Fees" – Charges incurred for overdue returns.
"Replacement Fees" – The cost charged if a garment is not returned or is damaged beyond repair.
"Utmost Care" – The standard of care expected of you, requiring the careful handling, maintenance, and protection of the garments to ensure they remain in the same condition as when rented. This includes, but is not limited to, avoiding any damage, alteration, or contamination, and refraining from activities that could reasonably cause harm to the garments.
"Return Packaging" – The packaging, specifically a polymailer, provided by Real Life Style for the return of garments at the conclusion of the rental period. The poly mailer is intended for the safe and secure return of rented items.
3. Rental Period
The standard rental period is 4 days. Rentals should be booked in advance, and delivery is recommended at least two days before the event. Extensions are subject to availability and additional charges.
4. Use and Care of Garments
4.1 You must handle all garments with utmost care, ensuring that garments are used only for their intended purpose and are kept free from damage, contamination, or alteration.
4.2 You may not wash, alter, or iron the rented garments in any manner.
4.3 You must ensure that garments are kept away from food, beverages, makeup, and any surfaces or substances that may cause damage.
4.4 Any damage beyond normal wear and tear will result in the application of a Repair Fee or a Replacement Fee (see Section 9).
5. Payment Options
Real Life Style accepts the following methods of payment:
✔ Credit/Debit Cards
✔ EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer)
✔ PayFast / Other Secure Payment Gateways
All transactions are processed in South African Rand (ZAR).
6. Card Acquiring and Security
Payments are securely processed via an accredited third-party payment gateway. Real Life Style does not store card details.
7. Amendment of Terms and Conditions
Real Life Style reserves the right to update these Terms & Conditions at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or website updates.
8. Late Fees
8.1 A R100.00 per day late fee applies for overdue returns.
8.2 If the garment is not returned within 7 days, the full retail price will be charged as a Replacement Fee.
9. Authorization to Charge Fees
By renting from Real Life Style, you authorize us to charge your provided payment method for:
✔ Late Fees
✔ Damage/Repair Fees
✔ Replacement Fees (if applicable)
✔ Cancellation Fees
10. Failure to Return Garments
10.1 If a garment is not returned within 7 days after the Rental Period ends, we will charge you the full retail price of the garment, in addition to any late fees incurred.
10.2 Real Life Style reserves the right to pursue criminal charges where appropriate.
11. Availability of Garments
All rentals are subject to availability. From time to time, an item may be inaccurately reflected as available. If an item becomes unavailable due to unforeseen circumstances, we will offer a full refund or alternative options.
12. Extension of Rental Period
To extend your rental, you must contact Real Life Style at least 48 hours before the end of the Rental Period. Additional charges apply.
13. Cancellation Policy
13.1 Where you provide notice 10+ Business Days Before Rental Start, you are entitled to a full refund or credit.
13.2 Less than 7 Business Days (Before Shipping/Collection): No refund, but a gift card/store credit will be issued.
13.3 After Shipping/Collection: No refunds or exchanges. Store credit may be issued for the balance of the rental fee once shipping and cleaning costs have been deducted.
14. Returns
14.1 You must ensure that the Garment(s) are ready for collection on the last day of the rental period or the agreed-upon time. A time will be communicated to you within reason.
14.2 You will place the Garment(s) in the garment bag(s) and use the Return Packaging (poly mailer) provided in preparation for collection by the courier.
14.3 Failure to follow return instructions may result in additional charges.
15. Warranties and Representations
15.1 Real Life Style makes no warranties regarding fit, comfort, or suitability. We will assist with a size exchange or a return if available. For returns due to sizing issues, you’ll receive a gift card for the rental amount, excluding dry cleaning and delivery fees. An administrative fee may apply.
15.2 You rent garments at your own risk and agree that minor differences between online images and real-life appearance may occur.
15.3 Real Life Style’s liability is limited to the rental amount paid.
16. Miscellaneous
16.1 Force Majeure: We are not responsible for delays or failures due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., natural disasters, strikes, transport disruptions).
16.2 Severability: If any clause in this agreement is found unenforceable, the remaining terms remain valid.
17. Commitment to Care
17.1 All garments are professionally cleaned and inspected before rental. You may not undertake to wash the garments yourself or take them for professional cleaning.
17.2 If you notice any defects upon receipt, notify us within 4 hours of receipt of Garment(s) to avoid liability.
18. Delivery and Collection
You must ensure that someone is present at the provided address for delivery. Charges may apply for missed deliveries that require re-delivery.
